La ruta ciclista Karwendel no solo ofrece profundas impresiones, sino que también conecta a través de Baviera las regiones de Seefeld y Achensee. Ya en 1978, se llevó a cabo el clásico alrededor del Karwendel como un evento de ciclismo de carretera.
La clásica "Karwendeltour" en bicicleta de carretera comienza en Innsbruck y recorre el valle del Inn hasta Telfs. Allí comienza la subida hacia Leutasch, que con aproximadamente 600 metros de diferencia de altura se considera parte de los tramos de recorrido difíciles.
