El barón Jean Michel Paul de Selys Longchamps fue un piloto de combate belga que luchó para la Royal Air Force durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Selys se hizo conocido principalmente por su ataque a la sede de la Sipo-SD y la Gestapo en Bruselas. Falleció medio año después cuando su avión dañado se estrelló al aterrizar.
Jean de Selys era hijo del mayor de caballería barón Raymond de Selys Longchamps y de Emilie de Theux de Meylandt et Monjardin. Desde joven, fue un hábil jinete y, a los 16 años, ya competía en diversos concursos. Por lo tanto, era lógico que Selys ingresara en julio de 1933 al Primer Regimiento de Guías para su servicio militar. Ascendió al rango de teniente.
