Con nueve años de retraso y un fuerte excedente presupuestario de 480 millones de euros, Santiago Calatrava ha terminado la estación de Bergen. Aunque ya se ha marchado de Valencia, continúa aplicando ese rasgo de estilo mediterráneo también en lugares grises. A lo lejos flota una larga viga con un morro aerodinámico que recuerda a una locomotora de TGV.
En el lado sur de la estación ha surgido en los últimos años un nuevo barrio. En 2015, ese otro starchitect, Daniel Libeskind, presentó el nuevo centro de convenciones para la ciudad. Desde entonces, se han añadido una comisaría, un hotel de lujo, un edificio de exposiciones y dos bloques de construcción recientes.
