La Hoegaardsestraat sigue el trayecto de la antigua calzada romana de Lovaina a Hoegaarden. Un poco más allá, en dirección a Bierbeek, se desenterró una villa romana en la década de 1970. Esta era una importante vía de comunicación en la época romana. La granja de Duivelshoeve, situada a la izquierda, fue habitada en el siglo XV por Willem Denduyvel. Era una posada para caballos a lo largo de la Hoegaardsestraat, luego un albergue y una sala de baile. Antes se disparaba a palomas vivas.
