Un pino silvestre (Pinus sylvestris), a lo largo del Molenweg en Niel-bij-As, recibió el nombre de 'Dikke Den'. El pino tiene una circunferencia de tronco de 317 cm (medición realizada en 2012) y es uno de los más altos, gruesos y ancianos de su especie en esta región. El pino se encuentra a lo largo de un sendero peatonal que conecta la Oude Molenweg con la Smispoelstraat y fue plantado alguna vez como un árbol de esquina para marcar los límites del catastro. Debido a su tamaño actual y hermosa forma de crecimiento representativa, es un elemento característico.
