Este castillo de agua del siglo XIV es uno de los más bellos de Flandes. Ya en 1300, Cleydael era conocido y estaba en posesión de la familia Sanders. Luego siguieron muchos otros propietarios. También la familia española Del Rio fue propietaria de esta finca durante un tiempo. El castillo en sí está completamente rodeado de agua que proviene del Struisbeek.
