En el extremo oeste de la provincia de Namur, se encuentra sobre una roca en la confluencia del Eau d'Heure y el Yves, la ciudad fortificada de Walcourt. La principal atracción de esta ciudad es sin duda la Basílica de San Materno. La torre de esta iglesia gótica de peregrinación se eleva 63 m sobre la ciudad. En su interior se puede descubrir un hermoso órgano de 1531 y, por supuesto, la milagrosa imagen de Nuestra Señora de Walcourt. La figura de madera del siglo X es una de las más antiguas de Bélgica.
