El río Hene o Le Hain serpentea aquí a través del bosque detrás del castillo de Kasteelbrakel. El Hene es un afluente del Escalda. El Hene nace en el Plateau de Anderlues en la belga Henao, atraviesa desde Nimy el Henekom y desemboca en el Escalda en Condé-sur-l'Escaut, justo más allá de la frontera francesa entre Tournai y Mons. El curso de agua ha dado su nombre al antiguo condado, ahora provincia de Henao (francés: Hainaut).
