Una parte de este gran estanque "de Putse Moer" todavía está en manos privadas, pero forma parte del Parque Fronterizo Kalmthoutse Heide. Como su nombre indica, aquí anteriormente se extraía turba y este estanque en gran medida debe su origen a ello. En los bordes del estanque crecen plantas raras como el rocío del sol y la junco de pico blanco y marrón.
