Situado en la frontera entre Famenne y Condroz, el pueblo de Somal se extiende de norte a sur a ambos lados del valle de Eau de Somme. Se caracteriza por la presencia de una importante masía-castillo y la ermita de Sant Roc , catalogada como monumento y yacimiento.
Masbourg construyó el complejo actual a partir de la casa solariega fortificada del siglo XVI. Los edificios se agrupan en torno a un patio rectangular . A la izquierda de la entrada, un edificio señorial de estilo tradicional cuya mampostería presenta huellas de numerosas campañas de construcción. El castillo-señor está rodeado de sólidos muros, sostenido al sur por el señorío y bordeado al norte por una torre de esquina cuadrada. En el centro, un portal semicircular abre el conjunto. La propiedad ha sido recientemente renovada y convertida en áreas de estar y recepción. En esta ocasión se diseñó el entorno y el jardín.
Todo ello forma parte del patrimonio protegido.
