La iglesia neogótica de Nuestra Señora de Leffinge fue construida de 1877 a 1879. Reemplazó a un predecesor románico-gótico en mal estado. El promotor fue el obispo de Brujas Faict, originario de Leffinge.
Las 13 torres del edificio hacen referencia a su año de nacimiento (1813). También en la iglesia de Leffinge encontramos a los Templarios...
Es así que la familia de Fauquemberghes, en aquel entonces noblezas poderosas, mantenía el altar y los diezmos de la parroquia de Leffinge en feudo del conde de Flandes. Esta familia tenía estrechos lazos con los caballeros templarios.
Además, uno de sus antepasados fue incluso cofundador de la orden del templo. En la Edad Media, la torre de la iglesia se utilizaba para conservar los estatutos del oficio de los camarlengos y la acequia.
