Thorpark es un área de 10 km² detrás de la antigua mina de Waterschei. El área tiene tantas cualidades que se conectará con el Parque Nacional. Aquí encontrarás todo lo que los Altos Kempen tienen para ofrecer: montañas de piedra de mina en medio de brezos y bosques de pinos, un hermoso valle de arroyo, enebros y dunas de tierra. Algunos edificios destacados aderezan el paisaje: la colonia infantil de As y la mina de carbón de Waterschei (Thor Central). Ya puedes caminar por allí de manera extensa, pero aún no hay una puerta de acceso en la conocida receta de las otras puertas.
