Desde el tranquilo pueblecito de Bierbeek, realizamos un recorrido por caminos hollados y a lo largo del Molenbeek hacia uno de los últimos restos (junto con Hallerbos y el Bosque de Soignes) del bosque de carbón original, es decir, el Mollendaalbos (que forma parte del Meerdaalwoud). Caminamos a través de dos paisajes completamente diferentes: un paisaje abierto con amplias panorámicas y el paisaje cerrado del bosque. Los muchos caminos hollados intermedios completan el conjunto.
