Bienvenido al valle de la ‘Ninglinspo’

El curioso nombre ‘Ninglinspo’ es el resultado de un error de escritura de cartógrafos franceses que distorsionaron un buen número de nombres de lugares en el ‘departamento de Ourthe’ que se creó aquí en 1876. Confundieron el nombre del río con el nombre del terreno donde el arroyo fluye hacia el ‘Amblève’. Este terreno se llamaba: “En Inglin spau”, es decir, en la fuente de Inglin, nombre de la persona cuya pista se ha perdido.

El nombre original del arroyo es de hecho ‘Le Doulneux’ (en latín: Dulnosus) lo que indica que proviene de un bosque de alisos. En la carta de ‘Sigebert III’ de 647 ya se menciona este nombre.

Los nombres de los diferentes baños y pozos que se han formado a lo largo de los años por el agua y que se encuentran en toda la caminata N°21, fueron ideados por ‘Laurent-François Dethier’. Este era un abogado de ‘Theux’, representante del Consejo de Quinientos en ‘París’, que jugó un papel muy activo en la Revolución de ‘Franchimont’ en 1789 y en la convocatoria del congreso de ‘Polleur’.

Este pequeño valle ha sido completamente limpiado y restaurado por estudiantes en el marco de la “Operación Verano Solidario 2005” de la ‘Región Valona’ en colaboración con el municipio de ‘Aywaille’.
