La batalla de Nicópolis tuvo lugar en dicha ciudad búlgara el día 25 de septiembre de 1396 y enfrentó a las fuerzas del Imperio otomano contra una coalición de húngaros, valacos y franceses, con derrota de estos últimos. También es llamada la Cruzada de Nicópolis. Algunas veces se fecha la batalla el 28 de septiembre.
