Usingen es una ciudad con 14.733 habitantes en el distrito de Hochtaunus, en Hesse del Sur. La “ciudad de los pinzones de libro” de más de 1200 años de antigüedad en el Taunus fue la ciudad residencial de la casa de Nassau-Usingen.
La ciudad de Usingen se encuentra en la región llamada Usinger Land, que lleva su nombre. Está ubicada en el río Usa en la cuenca de Usingen, en el borde noreste del Taunus. Usingen está a unos 30 kilómetros al norte de Frankfurt del Meno, 27 kilómetros al sur de Wetzlar y 38 kilómetros al noreste de Wiesbaden y en el límite de la región Rhein-Main.
