La iglesia de San Jorge en Bad Gandersheim es una iglesia de sala. Se caracteriza por su coro de entramado de madera y su pintura interior campesina del siglo XVII.
La antigüedad de la iglesia de San Jorge no se conoce con precisión. El cronista Henricus Bodo, un monje del monasterio de Clus, data en una crónica de los años 1523 a 1532 la construcción en el siglo IX. Se menciona por primera vez en documentos en 1196 como iglesia parroquial de la ciudad en tiempos de la abadesa Mechthild I. Según Henricus Bodo, la fundación de la iglesia del monasterio de Clus se remonta a la iglesia de San Jorge.
