El Castillo Gracht no fue originalmente una residencia de caballeros, sino un anexo de la casa Buschfeld y un feudo del monasterio de Dietkirchen en Bonn. Durante el periodo de la administración francesa, el Castillo Gracht fue un lazareto durante varios años desde 1795 y luego fue abandonado en un estado ruinoso. En 1957, el municipio de Liblar adquirió el castillo junto con el parque del castillo y las tierras del castillo.
