El cementerio municipal de Südwestfriedhof en Essener se encuentra en el oeste de la ciudad de Essen, en el barrio de Fulerum. Es el segundo lugar de enterramiento más grande de la ciudad en términos de superficie, después del cementerio del parque. Aquí están enterradas 2878 víctimas de ambas guerras mundiales.
En el cementerio, que hoy tiene una extensión de 37,27 hectáreas, están enterradas más de 33,000 personas, lo que supera con creces el número de habitantes de Fulerum.
