Neubabelsberg es una colonia de villas que se creó tras la fundación del Imperio Alemán y que pertenece a Potsdam desde 1939. Se encuentra en el este de Potsdam, al suroeste de la localidad berlinesa de Kohlhasenbrück y se extiende desde la estación de S-Bahn de Griebnitzsee a lo largo del Griebnitzsee hasta el antiguo jardín imperial Park Babelsberg, donde se encuentra el castillo de Babelsberg.
La colonia de villas se formó en el territorio del municipio de Klein Glienicke en el distrito de Teltow, que fue renombrado como Neubabelsberg en 1925. El municipio de Neubabelsberg fue incorporado a la ciudad de Nowawes el 1 de abril de 1938, que fue renombrada como Babelsberg al mismo tiempo. La ciudad de Babelsberg fue incorporada a la ciudad de Potsdam el 1 de abril de 1939.
