La Academia del Servicio Exterior es el centro de formación y capacitación del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores. Desde 2006 tiene su sede en la península de Reiherwerder, en el lago Tegeler, en Berlín-Tegel, anteriormente desde 1973 en el barrio de Ippendorf en Bonn. El edificio central de esta propiedad es la Villa Borsig, que es la casa de huéspedes del Ministro Federal de Asuntos Exteriores.
En la Academia se prepara principalmente a los aspirantes del servicio exterior medio, superior y alto para las nuevas tareas. También alberga al mismo tiempo la facultad de "Asuntos Exteriores" de la Universidad Federal de Administración Pública. También se llevan a cabo programas de formación continua del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores aquí.
