El castillo de Anholt dio nombre a la antigua ciudad de Anholt, hoy un barrio de Isselburg en Renania del Norte-Westfalia. El complejo es uno de los castillos de agua más grandes de Münsterland y se encuentra en la frontera con el Bajo Rin. Sus orígenes se remontan a una construcción defensiva del siglo XII para asegurar la posesión del obispado de Utrecht. El foso es alimentado por el Issel.
