El Instituto Emperatriz Augusta en el Nuevo Jardín de Potsdam es un complejo arquitectónico de estilo palaciego de la antigua Fundación Emperatriz Augusta, que fue construido entre 1900 y 1902 bajo la dirección del arquitecto Lothar Krüger en estilo neorrománico como un hogar para niñas huérfanas de guerra.
La fundación, establecida en 1872 por Augusta de Sajonia-Weimar-Eisenach para la educación y escolarización de las hijas huérfanas de nobles, oficiales, pastores y funcionarios, se trasladó en 1902 de Charlottenburg al edificio del instituto recién construido en Potsdam, que contaba con habitaciones de vivienda y descanso para las niñas, educadoras y el personal, así como comedor, gimnasio, hospital, capilla y la habitación del patrón, la más hermosa del edificio. Hasta 1945, hasta 80 niñas podían vivir y crecer allí al mismo tiempo.
