El Castillo Amarillo, también llamado Ciudad Amarilla, es un castillo en ruinas en la Montaña Amarilla a 628,4 m sobre el nivel del mar, al noreste del mercado de Heidenheim, en el distrito de Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen, en Baviera.
Las estructuras del anillo denominadas Ciudad Amarilla se encuentran en la Montaña Amarilla, un promontorio montañoso que sobresale del Hahnenkamm hacia el noreste. Hacia el oeste, norte, noreste y sur, la Montaña Amarilla desciende abruptamente, mientras que hacia el este y suroeste la subida es mucho más suave, por lo que estos eran los puntos críticos para asegurar toda la superficie del monte. En la meseta inferior reposa, retrocediendo en promedio 100 m desde los bordes de la meseta, la fuerte pendiente de la placa de caliza de Weißjurakalk. La meseta superior tiene una forma básica aproximadamente triangular, midiendo 225 m de norte a sur y 275 m de este a oeste. Se eleva aproximadamente 25 m sobre la meseta inferior y está protegida naturalmente por todos los lados.
