El Museo de Aislantes en Lohr am Main muestra una gran parte de la colección privada de aislantes de Lothar Vormwald y se inauguró el 20 de junio de 2004 como el tercer museo de la ciudad de Unterfranken. Se considera el único de su tipo en Alemania.
La colección privada, que el electricista de alta tensión formado ha construido con la colaboración de su esposa Daniele Vormwald, abarca más de 600 aislantes de más de 40 países. Se presentan los diferentes tamaños y formas de construcción de aislantes, así como su desarrollo histórico. Los aislantes más pequeños de la colección provienen de líneas de telecomunicaciones y no son más grandes que un dedal, la pieza de exhibición más grande es una cadena de aislantes de tres partes de una línea de alta tensión de 380 kV con una longitud de más de 3 m y una masa de 150 kg.
