El Wembach nace en Teufelsrechgrund, al sureste del barrio Rohrbach de Ober-Ramstadt. Fluye al este pasando por el pueblo de Wembach, atraviesa Reinheim y desemboca en el Gersprenz. Una parte del Wembach alimenta, en caso de inundaciones, el Langen Graben, que se une al Dilsbach al norte del estanque de Reinheim para formar el Landwehrgraben, el cual desemboca en el Gersprenz después de aproximadamente un kilómetro.
El Wembach es un arroyo de media montaña rico en material fino y carbonatado. La región de los ahorros es su región pesquera dominante. Su cuenca hidrográfica abarca 14,7 km² y su caudal medio es de 114 l/s. Su estado ecológico se indica como insatisfactorio.
