El área protegida Gutmecke y Renau es un área natural de 113,6 ha situada al norte de Altastenberg, en la ciudad de Winterberg. El área fue designada en 2008 con el plan paisajístico de Winterberg por el distrito de Hochsauerland. Amplias zonas del área protegida forman parte de la considerablemente más grande zona FFH de Hunau, Negertal superior, Renautal y Steinberg, lo que las incluye en la red de áreas protegidas europeas Natura 2000. Esta zona FFH se extiende en la contigua ciudad de Schmallenberg.
