La biblioteca urbana de Detmold es la biblioteca municipal de la ciudad de Detmold. Desde 1985 se encuentra en el edificio neoclásico de la Leopoldstraße 5, que originalmente albergaba el Leopoldinum, el gymnasium más antiguo de Detmold.
El precursor de la biblioteca municipal fue la biblioteca de la Asociación Educativa de Detmold. La asociación, fundada en 1881, proporcionó desde el principio una biblioteca para sus miembros, que a partir de 1909 también podía ser utilizada por el público. La colección de libros fue adquirida por la ciudad en noviembre de 1935 y pasó a ser propiedad del gobierno estatal en abril de 1940. Se desconoce su paradero.
