La reserva natural Werder Besandten se encuentra en el área del municipio de Lenzerwische en el distrito de Prignitz en Brandeburgo.
El área con el número de identificación 1425 fue declarada reserva natural mediante un decreto del 16 de mayo de 1990. La reserva natural, que abarca aproximadamente 113 hectáreas, se extiende al noroeste, oeste y sur de Besandten, una parte habitada del municipio de Lenzerwische. El área está situada directamente al lado del Elba, que fluye hacia el oeste. A lo largo del centro del Elba se encuentra la frontera estatal con Baja Sajonia y en el borde norte del área se encuentra la frontera estatal con Mecklemburgo-Pomerania Occidental. La B 195 fluye al este, y al noreste se encuentra el Löcknitz, un afluente derecho del Elba.
