La reserva natural Bosque de Teutoburgo Oriental se encuentra en el territorio de los municipios de Augustdorf y Schlangen y en las ciudades de Detmold, Lage y Oerlinghausen en el distrito de Lippe, en Renania del Norte-Westfalia. Es la segunda reserva natural más grande del distrito.
Para Augustdorf, Detmold, Lage, Oerlinghausen y Schlangen, desde 2004, un área de aproximadamente 2325 ha ha sido designada como reserva natural bajo el número de identificación LIP-066 en el plan paisajístico nº 14 "Bosque de Teutoburgo".
