La ruta de esculturas, compuesta por once proyectos de arte en la tierra en el Rothaargebirge, se inauguró en 2000. El Waldskulpturenweg va sobre el Rothaarkamm, la principal cadena montañosa del Rothaargebirge, y comienza en Bad Berleburg. Desde allí, la ruta pasa por el barrio de Kühhude, cruza la ruta de senderismo Rothaarsteig y luego va a través de Schanze y Almert hacia el lugar Schmallenberg.
