Piedralaves es un municipio y localidad española de la provincia de Ávila,[1] en la comunidad autónoma de Castilla y León. Ubicado en la comarca del Valle del Tiétar, cuenta con una población de 2136 habitantes .El topónimo fue documentado por primera vez en el Libro de la Montería de Alfonso XI con la forma Pie de Labas.[2] En los siglos XV y XVI también se documentaron las formas de transición Piedelaves/Piedelabes y Piedalabes.[3]
