Canicosa de la Sierra es un municipio[4] y localidad española de la provincia de Burgos, en la comunidad autónoma de Castilla y León. Se encuentra en la comarca de la Sierra de la Demanda.Habitado en época prerromana, al igual que el resto de la comarca, por la tribu de los Pelendones, éstos dejaron constancia en el castro de Canicosa, apenas perceptible aún. En el siglo XVIII, el rey Carlos IV le concedió licencia para la corta de un determinado número de árboles. Formó parte de la Cabaña Real de Carreteros del Reino, siendo uno de sus más importantes asociados.
