La Vecilla es un municipio y lugar español de la provincia de León, en la comunidad autónoma de Castilla y León. Cuenta con una población de 414 habitantes . Fue cabecera de partido judicial hasta su agregación al de León a finales del siglo XX.Situada a la entrada del alto valle del Curueño, esta población es capital y punto de partida hacia el interior de la comarca. Los alrededores de este río guardan muchas leyendas que han despertado la inquietud de poetas y cronistas de diversas épocas.
