Castillo de Aro[2] [4] es un municipio español de la comarca del Bajo Ampurdán, formado por Castillo de Aro, Playa de Aro y S'Agaró. Está situado en la provincia de Gerona, en la comunidad autónoma de Cataluña.El municipio está situado en plena Costa Brava. Limita al norte con Calonge, a poniente limita con Santa Cristina de Aro, al sur con San Feliu de Guíxols y a levante, con el litoral. Castillo de Aro se extiende por el extremo oriental del Valle de Aro, una estrecha llanura drenada por el río Ridaura y situada entre la Sierra de Cadiretes y las montañas meridionales del macizo de las Gavarres.
