La riera del Palau es un arroyo que transcurre por el oeste de la ciudad de Tarrasa hasta llegar a juntarse con la riera de las Arenas y formar, ambas, la riera de Rubí.[1] Su notoriedad radica en las catastróficas consecuencias que tuvieron sus crecidas en Tarrasa.[2]
La cuenca de esta riera está delimitada por la sierra del Troncó y de las Pedritxes y la forman los torrentes de Fontalba, Can Bogunyà y Mitger de Can Amat. Al unirse los dos primeros torrentes originan la riera de Can Bogunyà, que recibe el nombre de riera del Palau a su paso por Tarrasa.
