El Observatorio Astronómico Nacional de España es un observatorio astronómico con varias instalaciones en la zona de Madrid. La primera instalación, considerada hoy un monumento histórico, se encuentra en el Parque del Buen Retiro, su construcción se inicia en 1790 con el nombre de Observatorio Real. El observatorio inicial fue diseñado por Juan de Villanueva y es un buen representante de la arquitectura neoclásica en España. Actualmente alberga una biblioteca y una exposición sobre antiguos aparatos científicos.
En la actualidad, los observatorios activos se sitúan en la zona sur del país, dedicados a la observación del espacio o la radioastronomía.
