Malvarrosa [1] es un barrio obrero de la ciudad de Valencia , perteneciente al distrito de Poblados Marítimos. Su población en 2021 era de 12.908 habitantes, según el ayuntamiento de Valencia.[2]
El topónimo Malvarrosa es una castellanización de Malva-rosa. La planta también conocida con el nombre científico, Alcea rosea, pertenece a la familia de las malváceas.[3] Alcea rosea proviene del griego, y significa “proteger”, “cuidar”, debido a los atributos medicinales que posede la planta.[4]
