A través de la sierra de los Rincones
Esta etapa se desarrolla por el inhóspito terreno de la sierra de los Rincones, que bordea la margen derecha del Ebro; por sus cimas, en días claros se alcanza a ver el perfil de los Pirineos. Se comienza remontando el barranco de Vall de Freixes para pasar por la torre Fustigueras y avanzar por la plana hasta el barranco de Tapioles, por el que se desciende de nuevo hasta las proximidades del embalse de Mequinenza. Se continúa por pista hasta el lecho del barranco de Tamariu, al final del cual se levanta la presa del embalse, y se entra a Mequinenza por la carretera N-211, cruzando el puente sobre lo que ya es la cola del embalse de Riba-roja.
