Conociendo el pasado, se comprende el presente y se mejora el futuro.
Este Camino Natural que no alcanza los 7 kilómetros de longitud rinde homenaje a los 27 kilómetros del antiguo ferrocarril del Carrilet de la Cava que unía Tortosa con La Cava (actual Deltebre). Esta vía férrea fue vital para transportar los productos agrícolas del Delta del Ebro cultivados gracias, entre otros, al Canal de la Izquierda del Ebro, inaugurado en 1912 por el rey Alfonso XIII.
