Instalado en una casa urbana del siglo XIX, el museo Alexandre Dumas recorre la vida y la obra de tres Dumas: el general Thomas-Alexandre Dumas (1762-1806), su hijo Alexandre Dumas padre (1802-1870), ilustre autor de Los tres mosqueteros, nacido en Villers-Cotterêts, y Alexandre Dumas hijo (1824-1895), autor de La Dame aux camélias.
El museo alberga numerosos documentos originales, como cartas autógrafas, manuscritos, primeras ediciones y ediciones ilustradas, así como retratos pintados, grabados y esculpidos.
