Esta iglesia fue dedicada a san Vaast y esta elección no fue sin razón. De hecho, en primer lugar, san Vaast es conocido como uno de los grandes evangelizadores de Flandes; en segundo lugar, el edificio fue fundado como posesión de la abadía de San Vaast de Arras. Utilizada como pajar desde la Revolución, fue devuelta al culto en 1825. Construida en el siglo IX, fue destruida varias veces e incluso arrasada durante uno de los bombardeos de la Primera Guerra Mundial en 1917.
