Skjálfandi es una bahía, aunque también se le considera como un fiordo, en el norte de Islandia. Presenta continuos temblores de tierra. Alberga la localidad de Húsavík. Allí construyó su casa Gardar Svavarsson durante la colonización de Islandia. En su zona oriental se encuentra la isla de Flatey.
La palabra Skjálfandi se traduce como 'la bahía del terremoto', un fenómeno que ocurre con frecuencia. Sin embargo, la mayoría de estos movimientos sólo pueden ser percibidos por sismógrafos.
