Bellagio es conocido como el inicio de la subida a la Madonna del Ghisallo, un clásico en el Giro de Lombardia. Pero Bellagio también es famoso por su fabulosa ubicación en la intersección de las tres ramas del lago Como en forma de Y, que también se conoce como Lario. Se encuentra en la punta de la península que separa los dos brazos sur del lago, con los Alpes visibles al otro lado del lago hacia el norte.
