Esta antigua casa colonial perteneció al Conde de Orizaba, cuya esposa la hizo cubrir con azulejos de talavera de Puebla, para mostrar su estatus (ya que este era un material costoso y hecho a mano).
La "Casa de los Azulejos" adquirió un aspecto de cuento de hadas y se convirtió en el hogar del Jockey Club, un lugar de encuentro para la élite bajo el régimen de Porfirio Díaz. Al final de la Revolución Mexicana, fue adquirida por "Sanborns" quienes remodelaron la casa con buen gusto y la convirtieron en la base de una red nacional de restaurantes y farmacias. Observa los detalles de art nouveau y el mural "Omnisciencia" de José Clemente Orozco (1925) en la escalera hacia los baños.
