Rossum es una aldea en la orilla sur del río Waal, en el municipio de Maasdriel en Bommelerwaard, en la provincia holandesa de Gelderland. La aldea cuenta con 2.995 habitantes. La primera mención del nombre Rossum data del año 893. En un documento se menciona a Rossum como 'Rotheheim', un nombre que se compone de 'rothe', que designa un lugar donde se ha talado bosque, y 'heim', que significa lugar de residencia. El 25 de marzo de 1818, la entonces municipalidad de Rossum recibió un escudo de armas del Consejo Supremo de la Nobleza.
