En 1633, Willem Ripperda recibió permiso para construir los molinos de Oostendorp. A principios del siglo XX, el molino amenazaba con deteriorarse y tuvo que ser restaurado en 1930. En 1946, la mayoría de los molinos desaparecieron en las aguas altas del estanque y no fueron completamente restaurados hasta 1987. Desde mayo de 1988, el molino está nuevamente en funcionamiento y accesible para los visitantes, que pueden ver cómo se muele la harina y se exprime el aceite.
