La fábrica de ladrillos Fivelmonde en el Damsterdiep en Delfzijl es la última fábrica de ladrillos auténtica con un horno en zig-zag al norte de los grandes ríos. Alguna vez hubo 17 de estas fábricas de ladrillos en nuestro país. Además de la conservación del monumento industrial, hay ideas para convertir el edificio en una atracción pública. Para esto último ya se han realizado varios estudios. La (financiera) viabilidad de todo esto depende en parte de las posibilidades de desarrollo de la fábrica y su entorno inmediato.
