Chevremont es originariamente una aldea en el municipio de Kerkrade. En el siglo XXI, forma un barrio de Kerkrade. El nombre Chevremont proviene de una traducción francesa errónea del latín cavatum montem, que se traduce libremente como montaña empinada con descenso hacia el camino hundido. Alrededor de 1363, la zona es llamada Chevremont, Schaveymont. Chevremont se encuentra en la meseta de Kerkrade. Al este de Chevremont se encuentra el Berenbos, que contiene el remanente de un monte de desechos de la mina Domaniale, el Monte Beerenbosch.
