Fransum es un antiguo pueblo de iglesia en el municipio de Westerkwartier en la provincia de Groningen, Países Bajos. El pueblo consiste en la iglesia románica de Fransum, una granja y una casa.
Desde Den Ham, un camino estrecho conduce al montículo, cuya última parte no está pavimentada. A través del montículo hay un antiguo camino de muertes que va de norte a sur. En el pasado, desde Fransum salían caminos de iglesia hacia Aduard, Altenaauw, Beswerd y Den Ham. Muchos de estos caminos consistían en caminos de arcilla, o caminos pavimentados con ladrillos frisones o de Groningen. Casi todos estos caminos han desaparecido luego de las ampliaciones de parcelas, pero algunos han sido restaurados como carriles bici.
